AJECOM mandates that authors choose the article type and adhere to the descriptions of each article type outlined below. Be advised that not all article categories are accessible for every specialty. Kindly adhere to the specified word count restrictions. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
1. Scholarly articles
Between 6000 and 9000 words, excluding references in the complete document, with no word limit on the title page. The articles must delineate a conceptual framework and/or the implementation of community engagement initiatives, including community development, community services, community empowerment, community outreach, and action research. Such publications should possess a robust theoretical foundation and have greater generalizability, avoiding an emphasis on individual case studies.
2. Analytical articles
The review articles thoroughly encapsulate the literature concerning community participation and related programs. The total word count must exceed 5000 words and not surpass 6000 words (references excluded, with no word limit on the title page).
3. Case-oriented articles (Technical Articles + Policy/Practical Articles)
Between 4000 and 5000 words (excluding references, with no word limit on the title page) detailing innovative strategies beneficial for individuals engaged in community involvement. This article format is most appropriate for a limited number of case studies or a singular, distinctive, large-scale case study. The article may be driven by technique, centered on methodology, or may provide a comprehensive analysis of a community involvement program, encompassing monitoring, planning, implementation, or the policy implications of the case study(s). This article features a concise introduction and prioritizes technical methodologies and results above theoretical frameworks.
